Weather Report, 08 July 1976, Montreux

The first time I had the opportunity to witness Weather Report in concert was July 8, 1976, that is 40 years ago today.
This concert is one of my best musical memories as a listener. It was filmed and can be found on DVD.
It can also also be found on YouTube.

Joe Zawinul (Fender Rhodes, keyboards, synthesizers, piano)
Wayne Shorter (tenor and soprano saxophones)
Jaco Pastorius (bass)
Alex Acuña (drums)
Manolo Badrena (percussion)

These musicians are part of my all time favorites. I had the opportunity to see the band twice more with Peter Erskine & Jaco Pastorius, at Montreux 1979 and Lausanne a little later, and again in Paris I heard the version of the band with Omar Hakim & Victor Bailey, in 1984 or 1985.
I also had the pleasure to see Joe Zawinul with his Syndicate band twice.
I am one of the privileged to have been able to see Jaco Pastorius with his group Word of Mouth in Los Angeles in late 1981.
I absolutely love Wayne Shorter, and I've seen him many times with different bands, the last time being in March 2016, a great concert at the Cully Jazz Festival.
