Le Daniel Hunter Trio a été créé en 2010 pour mettre le feu aux compositions du guitariste australien. Celles-ci reflètent les voyages de Daniel au cours de ces deux dernières années, ainsi que son expérience d’Australien exilé dans une ville européenne. Alors que la musique intègre l’esthétique européenne, elle dispense aussi d’exotiques saveurs qu’il faut bien identifier comme spécifiques du jazz australien. Après des concerts en Suisse, en France et en Australie en 2010, Daniel s’est retiré dans une chambre et s’est mis furieusement à composer. Il en est sorti un large nouveau chant, où vient flamboyer de ses feux purs le saxophone visionnaire de Guillaume Perret. Bon voyage!

De cette formule en "Power Trio", il résulte un Blues efficace et moderne qui se joue des frontières stylistiques et dont l'influence est plutôt à rechercher du côté de la "West Coast".
